Loch Creag Dhubh
Also known as Craig ‘Dour’ because it is the home to
bigger trout of 2lb+, but don’t expect a lot of rising fish
except during a hatch of olives.
Access is by the gated road to the telecoms mast behind Polbain which starts in Altandhu. The gate may be locked but details of access will be given out with your permit. Park in the large quarry area about half way up the road. There may also be space nearer the top in sight of the loch.
A short walk over rough hill ground. Uphill coming home.
Easy wading on the east and west sides of the loch but can be fished from the bank. Large underwater boulders make wading difficult at the north and south ends.
